Once the glass pieces are cut, the painting process begins. Each layer requires firing in the kiln until the desired effect is reached.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
After the firing is complete, the individual glass pieces are leaded

Designing this piece started with a general idea by laying out fired mason jar bottoms as a base for a painted and fired image of a bird. The 
second image has all the glass pieces cut .  Glass bottle necks have been designed into the piece.
